Cemeteries: Don't forget the camera!

With this past weekend (April 3-4) being Easter weekend, I took a trip home to Hardin County and visited with my family. While there my dad wanted me to see where my great-great grandmother was buried. My dad has always been interested in our family's genealogy so I wasn't surprised when he wanted to show me this. What did surprise me was where she was buried. In Bullitt County on Highway 44 is a little country church called Knob Creek. This is where my mother's father belonged and went to…See More

I went to my mailbox today and it finally arrived--the 2010 Census! I was so surprised to see that it only had ten questions, none of which seem difficult to answer. I am so excited to participate in something so historic and important to our government. When you get your census, please fill out the form and mail it back. The census has been a very valuable tool to genealogy researchers. You can learn so much depending on the decade. Information can include name, age, race, street, years…See More

Leslie Byrne replied to Carla Moulton's discussion 'Calvin R. Tanner and Family'
All marriages are recorded at the county level. If you believe that Calvin and Amanda were married somewhere other than Daviess County, then you would want to contact that county courthouse, library or historical society.
